So I'm getting scuba certified, and it's fun, but quite a challenge! Yesterday we took the final exam in the scuba shop, and then went to the Val Verde pool to practice some techniques. We had to sink to the bottom while equalizing our ears every few feet (I must have lots of ear wax, cuz it took me a LONG time to equalize). While on the bottom (11 feet) we cruised around and did flips while breathing through our regulators. He made us practice losing our regulators and having our buddy share their spare one with us. It's complicated because we have to continuously blow bubbles no matter if the regulator is in or out of our mouths, and once we get it back in, we have to purge the water out of it. But we really started to get the hang of things, and once we are in the ocean with other living things, it will be VERY exciting! Catalina, here we come!
